The Fair is a community event
supported by nearly all the community organisations within Monifieth
The theme for the event is medieval, and as the name suggest has its origins from
an earlier time.
The community in Monifieth
dates back from the time when Christianity was introduced to the area by St
Regulus or St Rule from across the river Tay at
An attempt was made some
years ago to revive the Trewell’s Fair at the sea front, but like its
predecessor it too did not prevail for more than a year or two.
The present medieval fair is held in the town centre, and incorporates
a host of activities intended to appeal to all
ages, and includes Jugglers, bands, Displays, Dancing, Fancy
Dress and of course as all fairs have, craft stalls.
The 2011 event will be held
on Sunday 19th June, from 12.50 am to 4.30 pm. Entrance is free.
